Hong Kong Flower Show 2024!

It is spring again which is the time for the beautiful Hong Kong Flower Show 2024!

Starting from today until 24th March, Hong Kong Flower Show is held at the Victoria Park.

This year's Show is taking place under the captivating theme of "Floral Joy Around Town," highlighting the vibrant Angelonia as its featured flower. Angelonia, also known as the Angel Flower, boasts a charming and distinctive blossom shape, exuding a refreshing fragrance and abundant blooms. Adorned with numerous budding flowers, its stems give rise to lush and bushy blossoms that sway gracefully in the gentle breeze, resembling a flurry of colorful birds joyfully flitting about. A visit to the Show dedicated to Angelonia promises to infuse one's spirit with vitality and bliss.

My favourite display this year is designed by Beijing Municipal Administration Centre of Parks China National Botanical Garden, called “Peking Beauty”. The Drawing inspiration from Hua Dan, a beloved young female character in Peking operas, a treasured cultural gem, the centerpiece of the floral display is meticulously designed. The display showcases the profound artistic elegance inherent in Chinese traditional culture.

Throughout the duration of the show, an abundant array of educational and recreational activities awaits the visitors. These include a student drawing competition, a photo competition, a plant exhibit competition, captivating music and cultural performances etc. This year, in addition to marveling at the exquisite displays, I dedicated a significant amount of time to appreciating the artwork created by the talented students at the flower show. It was a delightful experience, double enjoyments!
