Hong Kong Home Baggage Check-in and Delivery Service At Home & Hotel!
Travel is fun, but one of the most painful things of travel is to bring your heavy luggage all the way to the airport, queueing-up at check-in counter and board.
Airlines in Hong Kong will provide a service called home baggage check-in. That means at your home or hotel a representative will come to you, collects, tags and takes away your luggage. Several companies offering a similar service also launched in the UK and Delhi in India, but these have stopped since Covid.
How does it work?
You schedule baggage pick up appointment in advance, an agent will arrive at your hotel generally between 5 to 24 hours before your flight, you book a time that suits you. All travelling passengers and their luggage must be present.
Your bags will be taken away by the agent, kept safe in a secure location before they’re loaded on the flight. The airline will usually keep you posted with updates over text, letting you know exactly where your bags are. You will be hassle-free then collect your baggage in Baggage Reclaim Hall at airport of destination!
Also please note:
-You can make an appointment on the "Airport Baggage Check-in and Delivery Service" website at the earliest 14 days prior the flight departure or at the latest 12 hours before the flight departure;
-Daily baggage collection time is from 8:00am to 9:00pm.
-The latest available baggage collection time is 5 hours prior the flight departure.
-Please input the flight departure date and time on the "Airport Baggage Check-in and Delivery Service" webpage, and the system will automatically provide the available baggage collection times (service is provided by SF EXPRESS).
How much does it cost?
First baggage is HK$370 each, every subsequent baggage is $180 each.
Please note:
-The coverage areas of all baggage delivery services have been extended to the whole of Hong Kong (excluding Lantau Island (except Tung Chung), Ma Wan, Discovery Bay, outlying islands and restricted areas).
-Service applicable to passengers travelling with Cathay Pacific only at the moment and successfully received e-ticket number after online check–in.
-The Maximum weight, dimension and single side of single baggage must not exceed 30kg, 199cm(Length + Width + Height) and 170cm respectively (Subject to the limitations of airlines).
-Oversize and overweight baggage, Special baggage (Animals, Food and Perishable items), prohibited items such as firearms, weapons, explosives, flammable or corrosive items, US flights, transit passengers, pregnant passengers, unaccompanied minor, passengers required special assistance and passengers traveling with entry visa are not accepted and will be required to check-in at airline counters.
It is reported that the baggage will be sealed with a transparent plastic bag for security reason and each delivery vehicle will only handle one passenger’s luggage and there are CCTV security camera inside the vehicles.
