Hung Shing Temple in Wan Chai has a secret backyard which not many people would notice.
Hung Shing Temple is an old Temple built in Ching Dynasty in 1847. It is located on Queen’s Road East now which is a busy street. However in its early days the temple was by the seashore before land reclamation started.
It may look small comparing to other old temples like Pak Tai Temple. Indeed there is a door which leads to the backyard of the temple where not many people would notice. There is a huge banyan tree and it is just nice and quiet there, a big contrast comparing to the busy street upfront. If you have a chance visiting the temple, don’t forget to check out the backyard!

129 Queen's Road East
