Neon light signs still shine brightly in Hong Kong in 2025!
Back in the day, neon lights were a staple of Hong Kong’s nightlife and bustling streets. They symbolized the city’s unique blend of Eastern and Western influences.
But things have changed. The Hong Kong government has tightened regulations on signboards due to safety concerns and the rise of LED technology. As a result, neon lights are becoming less common.
In Tsuen Wan, you can still find three neon signs standing tall, like a time capsule from Hong Kong’s golden era. Take a photo of them! One is “Wing Wah,” a famous cake shop and restaurant chain known for its delicious traditional Chinese treats. Another is “Min Fong Hong,” a beloved local shop famous for its tasty and affordable traditional snacks like stick rice dumplings filled with flavors like sesame, peanut, red bean paste, and even more creative options like pistachio. That’s why the shop is always packed with people. After visiting this area, you can grab some yummy treats from these two shops. And the last one is a motel.
