One Night in Xiqu Centre of Hong Kong
Witnessing the first solo performance of Cantonese opera ever by legend Law Ka-ying is surely a life experience. It is a unique one-man adaptation of his 2021 ensemble production The Asura Judgement, inspired by Japanese director Akira Kurosawa’s classic film Rashomon. It was written, directed, performed by Law himself and co-produced by Ms Naomi Chung, Head of Xiqu, Performing Arts, West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.
The artistic performance combined traditional Cantonese Opera and modern technology. It was very enjoyable by both Cantonese Opera fans and newcomers.
