Popular IG Hotpot Place in Central of Hong Kong!
You are what you eat, even choosing which hotpot restaurant is the same. I always say hotpot is not as simple as it looks. Some people think it is just about picking the soup base and food, boil it, dip it in the salty soya sauce and put it in the mouth. Well, it is partly true, but like other dining experiences, hotpot also go beyond that.
A good hotpot place should have their own signature soup base. That is the foundation of your food experience for the whole night. Good meat (most importantly beef). When you are having hotpot, you are the chef and you can’t complain to the kitchen that your beef is overcooked. You make the right judgement based on your skills, experiences and taste. Hong Kong people like to make their own sauce by mixing different “toppings” like chilli, garlic, herbs etc. Personally I like to dip my beef with salt. Don’t forget to pair with good beer.
Good food, good beer, good decoration with good friends make a good dining experience. Hotpot is fun because you can have more interactions with your friends like pouring beer, cooking food for each other. Last week my friend recommended a popular & hidden hotpot place in Central, Big JJ Seafood Hotpot Restaurant. I didn’t know it was so popular that she had to make the reservation a week in advance. It is totally worth it and I miss the pork bone broth very much.
Damn, I am hungry again and indeed there is so much to talk about hotpot. Should I make a vlog about hotpot experience later?
