Tasty Siu Mai in Hong Kong which is cheaper than $20/4pcs!
Hong Kong people love Siu Mai. It can be found in Chinese restaurants when having yum cha and also on the street as street food. Recently it is a hot issue in Hong Kong that a food stall selling ordinary Siu Mai for $20 per 4pcs from a pop-up night market in Tsim Sha Tsui, which is more expensive than average ones. This time we are recommending a Siu Mai stall which is cheaper than that and has been popular in Yuen Long for over 30years.
The Queen of Siu Mai is originated from Yuen Long. Unlike other food stalls selling the fish version of Siu Mai, the Queen sells the pork and shiitake mushroom version of Siu Mai giving it a rich, savory flavor which has gained popularity in Yuen Long for a long time. Don’t forget to pair with chilli oil with it.
The size of Siu Mai makes it perfect for one or two bites, which is part of the reason it's so popular as a finger food or appetizer. Queen of Siu Mai also serves various types of street food such as shark fin’s soup, deep-fried fish ball & Siu Mai. However I prefer the original steamed Siu Mai from this shop.
