“The Matrix” Zion City in Hong Kong?

Zion City in “The Matrix?”. It’s actually Dragon Centre shopping mall in Sham Shui Po. It is an indoor roller coaster🎢 on the top floor.

I would say this is the most scary roller coaster without 360.

However they have closed down this attraction for quite a few years.

20 years ago when I was still in high school, I would walk there with my friends during lunch time, ate at the mall, cheap and tasty, and then paid $20 per person for the ride.

We could enjoy two rounds. It would first go around the ice rink, good sightseeing experience, then speed up to the part shown in the photo. That is the most tilted part where you’re supposed to feel scary. Indeed the speed and slope are not scary enough for teenagers like me.

The excitement came from the height when you could look down to the first floor and the worst part was when you started to worry about the safety and maintenance... and you started to regret yourself what if the whole thing fell... Then the ride finished and you felt relieved.

It was reported that even though the ride was closed years ago, the shopping mall still keeps the maintainance and license renewed every year required by the law.

You may not be able to ride this unique roller coaster anymore but it is still worth to visit for photos and imagine how it would be if you could have a chance to ride it.
