When it is impossible to cross the harbour during rush hour...
Rush hour in Hong Kong
Rush hour in Hong Kong is between 6pm to 7:30pm, when there are A LOT of people getting off from work.
Crossing the harbour
Crossing the harbour (which means traveling from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon, or vice versa) will be much harder.
No matter bus or taxi it’s pretty much the same: cars are moving SLOWLY.
MTR (the subway/ metro) is always the fastest way, kind of.
Worst of the worst
Going from HK Island to Kowloon, normally you need to transfer at Admiralty station. But during the rush hour on Friday night, the platform of Admiralty Ststion can be so bad that in some case people would need to wait for 5+ trains in order to get on one.
How how how?
When it is super crowded at Admiralty Ststion, we suggest going to Central station first and then transfer to the red line. It should be easier because it’s the first station of the line.
In short Normal route: Wan Chai 👉🏼Admiralty(Transfer to red line)👉🏼Tsim Sha Tsui
When Admiralty is too crowded, you can try: Wan Chai👉🏼Admiralty👉🏼Central(Transfer to red line)👉🏼Admiralty👉🏼Tsim Sha Tsui
It may take you to take two more stations, but the waiting time should be much shorter than the normal way.
